About Me

Hello...

My name is Chaitanya Kulkarni.

An alumni of the Arizona State University with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree having a keen focus in Design & Manufacturing domain and looking for opportunities and challenging career in these fields where I could utilize my skill set and full potential and learn new things to contribute to the long term growth of the organization.

I am skilled in 3D CAD modeling (Parts and Assemblies), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), 3D Printing (FDM & SLA), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Machine Design, Rapid prototyping, Customer Service, Engineering Drawing, Blueprint reading, Bill of Materials (BOM), Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM); Proficient in using tools like SolidWorks, PTC Pro-E, PTC Creo, Fusion 360, ANSYS, Matlab, Abaqus,  CATIA, OnShape.

This portfolio gives an overall idea about my work, projects, certifications, patents along with some extra curricular activities & interests.

Thank you!

My Passion

At Arizona State University, I had an opportunity to cultivate Planning, Designing and Sketching skills through diverse experiences and I love to experiment with different ideas. I have developed expertise when it comes to SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Catia, GD&T, MATLAB, Microsoft Word, Excel & Power point. During my undergraduate program, I was able to plan, create, manage and execute number of departmental events that also hosted various exhibitions and workshops across the college campus. Participating and organizing these events enhanced my communication, leadership, teamwork and administration qualities.

I participated in the Outer space model making competition held by internationally renowned IUCAA (Inter University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics), where I made a working model of Mars Curiosity Rover & was awarded a first prize. I also got a chance to exhibit my model on National Science Day. My undergraduate project was to design a prototype of a rover that can operate on land as well as water. This ‘Amphibian Exploration Rover’ is remotely operated by the Internet & provides a live feed. For propulsion in water and traversing on land, I designed, modeled, analyzed & 3D printed hybrid wheels for which I got a patent published (Indian Patent No. 201721018524). For Mechatronics Device Innovation graduate class at ASU, I worked on ‘Wearable Soft Robotics Medical device to Treat Plantar Flexion Contractures in Brain Injuries’ for which I have filed a patent and it is at the final stage (Patent No. 62/838,714, US Patent & Trademark Office). I also have Lab experience where I worked on ‘Development of Underwater Submersible Robot for Water Quality Inspection’ project. I did several other projects that I have mentioned in my resume. Working on these projects streamlined my passion into a dedicated focus in the domain of Design, 3D CAD & Mechatronics.

Apart from that, Drawing is my hobby. I got ‘A’ grade in both Elementary & Intermediate drawing competitions in India. I am immensely curious & passionate about Astronomy and Spacecrafts. That’s why I organized ‘Hubble & Beyond Exhibition’ in college which was published in International Year of Light Magazine. I have also participated in fashion show at ASU’s cultural fest – Jhankar 2018. I am a member of ASU Friends of International club & participated in various social & hiking activities.

Having gained a well-rounded foundation in domain through a credible and comprehensive undergraduate and graduate program, I reckon the timing is right for me to excel in a workplace that promotes a culture of fun, consensus-driven and high-energy teamwork. I have an artistic eye and strong work ethic and I strongly believe that my creative talents will prove to be a valuable resource for your organization. Reach out to me if you would like to engage yourself in a stimulating discussion.
